Gillet Vertigo 1/24th : Ditech Resin Slot==> Model
Hi!
I 'm currently (after a too long break) starting another fun project. I've built a DTM audi from Revell to get back to basics and have fallen in love with a Gillet Vertigo, the Belgian racecar you probably know from Gran Turismo. I've had the Ditech Resin Slot for some time now, but I was missing correct references. That's why I went to the carmuseum to get some pictures. The car is the Gillet Vertigo GT2 racecar as displayed in the museum. The idea is to use the ditech 1/24th, modify and adapt it, and build a relatively simple interior and baseplate for it. Pictures will follow soon. Last edited by bigfrit; 12-08-2013 at 01:56 PM. |

maybe such speedline wheels are available from Tamiya peugeot 206 wrc kits?
Good luck with ditech slot models. It is a big battle to turn theme into static models. Also I did, was real hard, but it worthed a lot the effort to have unique models in showcase.

For the overall work, yes, it's a PITA ! But on the other hand, as you said, you get a unique model. And that's what it's about, for me ! Some little more work today : Getting rid of the bulge on the hood and finetuning of the puttywork on the front and bonnet. Lots of reshaping too. Modified a DTM AMG model interior to have a quick fit. Ciao! |

Fantastic race car and a great model project.
This could be the modern iteration of Bill Thomas' Cheetah:

Hey! Good to see you building again! This is a neat project. How wrong are the 5 spokes from the old Tamiya PIAA Accord kit? Probably easier to reshape the spokes a little than to add a center locking nut. Great work adapting a difficult project, can't wait to see it completed! Or, more complete, if you're like me.

Re: Gillet Vertigo 1/24th : Ditech Resin Slot==> Model
Some progress. Quite happy how it is slowly turning out.
It's funny to see the first pictures! Lot of time ago, it was still a piece of resin. Now I 've stretched, sanded, puttied, heated, bent, shaped, sanded, cut, and cursed a lot and it's how it is. Wheels have been sourced from Scaleproduction (Excellent!) and interior from various pieces. KA models CF all around (great!). Color is Tamiya TS47. Took a long time to get here ! |
