'95 Tacoma overheating
I replaced my water pump and my thermostat and the truck works great except for when I go up hill. Everytime I go up hill the car overheats. I would appreciate any ideas that anyone might have. Thanks!

Re: '95 Tacoma overheating
Check the radiator or have it checked at a radiator shop. It's 11 years old and probably partially clogged up. Water pumps may leak or make noise but they rarely cause overheating.

Dealer charged $700.00 for the labor, new radiator and cooling system flush. That radiator started leaking 13 months later, the Toyota warranty was 12 months and they wouldn't give me anything towards another replacement. I got a new Modine radiator from NAPA for $250.00 that has a lifetime warranty and put it in myself. BTW- if you have a Prerunner 2WD then the radiator is the 4WD model, not the 2WD. |
