Fd3s

Ok, so I'm waiting for the paint for my Impreza to dry.... got bored, everything else for it is pretty much done...

So I went ahead and started a kit that I can build box stock.

I went and attacked the FD3S A-spec Initial D edition by Fujimi.

1st thing i noticed... this thing NEEDS a MAJOR lowering job.
So much for box stock

2nd thing... the lowering is more then a pain in the *** then I'd expect... the suspensions are of such strange *** angles that lowering the entire lower linkage assembly will totally mess up the geometry of the suspensions. Gee... this is going to be fun.

fun fun fun...

oh man, so much for box stock.. I want to make the headlights pop up, but I just noticed that the kit doesn't come with anything to make them pop up.. and neither does the Tamiya FD kit... so I guess i'm going to head the putty direction again :o

there is a resin kit to make the head lights pop up on HLJ, but that kit costs $30US... crazy... I'm not about to spent $50Cdn on a pair of pop up headlights, so I'm going to just spent some time to make them pop up i guess...

POP UP LIGHTS!
Now that's gonna be hard. I guess you can use the ones on the FC as reference.

I have the same kit, waiting to be started. It might be interesting to post a double in-progress messages, so that I won't be so lazy.
So far, I've only examined the kit, and I did a test fit of the body, chassis, suspension and interior. Since the front sits way too high, I'm going to cut the ribs of the part below.

ok, impreza is done... but since i want to make the headlights pop up.. more putty work will be required on this kit, therefore I'm going to have to stall it for now.. no time for putty work this few weeks.

So... in the mean time, I'm itching to finish up another "ready to be finished" car..

I have a Civic Type-R, a Mugen ITR, a Spoon ITR, a Golf, and a gen 4 Prelude... hmm.. decisions decisions....:grey:

I'll put my vote in for the Civic Type-R. I've heard your ITR is getting lonely.
