Putting Amp in factory system
I want to add more sound to my '97 DX's system. It has the factory 6-disc changer in the trunk and factory head unit. Can I add an amp to the system without alot of headaches? I have a couple Kenwood amps that I want to put into the Civic, but don't know if the factory head unit has RCA jacks or what options are available. I bought the car with aftermarket speakers already installed, so I just want to hear their potential. OR Can I add an aftermarket head unit & still use the factory 6-CD disc changer?
Main music: Hard Rock-or Hip-Hop I appreciate any help.

I know that there is a way to hook your amps to your factory head unit. I dont know about the Cd changer. I suggest you go with an aftermarket head unit to run your speakers or subs. The sound quality will be much better.

You can use your factory radio, but you won't have RCAs to use for them. This is where the high level input on your amps comes into play. You'll need to take the wires that are going to your speakers, cut them, and run them to your amp through the high level input and then run speaker wires from the ouput of your amp back to your speakers.
Maybe you could look into an aftermarket equalizer as well, might help get the best out of your speakers.
