Studio27 Toyota Celica
Whilst it is quiet at work, I have managed to get some modelling done!
I can't spray at the moment, the weather is too cold! SO I have been working on my Tamiya/Studio27 Transkit for the 1991 Monte Carlo winning Toyota Celica of Carlos Sainz. Here is a pic of the winning car... |

The Transkit is mostly white metal, with a resin front bumper, stacks of photo etch, and their superb decals which are the sharpest I have ever seen!
It is all to be added to a base Tamiya Toyota Celica 2.0 GT, which also needs to converted to the 4WD Turbo GT-Four Body! |

Parts are removed according to the instructions, and these are the complete front bumper, all four mudflaps just behind the wheels, and the rear number plate surround!
This is done using a Dremel Drill with a small cutting disk, and a steady hand! |

View from the rear!
The moldings are superb, really crisp and almost flash free! Minimal cleaning is neccessary before primering! White metal parts needs to be scrubbed with a Suede Shoe Brush before spraying, to remove the dusty oxidation film of the metal. |

Damn looks like a master piece in the making. A real labour of love.
By 'white metal' do they mean pewter? Actually I just looked it up and saw what the difference is. I think it will be a while before I attempt anything so, complex. Cutting parts off the tree is hard enough. |
