1:24 BMW Z3 Roadster

Hi Guys,
This is my first build in a couple of years now. I've chosen the BMW Z3 Roadster by Tamiya as I'm trying to learn and improve my skills using simpler kits.
The kit itself looks nice and i'll be building it almost completely standard.

Unboxing

One part of this kit I intend to change is the wheels. I've chosen some 17 inch BBS RS by Hobby design. I'm open to suggestions as to paint the wheel centres in silver or the body colour

The colour I'll be using for the body is Zero Paints BMW 299-Techno Violet. I don't think it was available on the Z3 but it was a 3 Series colour at the time.

And so far I've managed to remove the mould lines, attach the side vents and give the body and underside a coat of Zero white primer

It'll be slow progress but I'm determined to actually finish something this year.
Thanks for looking

Good start! Nice colour you have chosen as well. How about matt white for wheel centres? Would certainly contrast the violet.

Thanks, I like the idea of white centres. I may give it a try

Over the weekend I got some colour on the body and underside of the chassis. I'm really liking the colour

The window trim and door handles I painted in black and the side repeater silver as I'm not too fond of the amber indicators the kit suggests. Apologies that it's a bit hard to see with the lighting

I clear coated the body using Zero Clear. my first time using it and ended up with a good bit of orange peel.
At least its an excuse to practise polishing
