Metro check engine light

My understanding is on my 1995 the constant "Check Engine" light is an EGR problem, I am not receiving any fault codes, my question is will the ECM reset itself after so many miles or do I have to reset it after repairs are made? I am tired of resetting my radio channels! I have cleaned the carbon out of the passage and EGR value (many times now) I think I have it all now but need to know if ECM will reset or do I kill the radio memory again? Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Metro check engine light

If you don't want to reset your radio, you can unplug the computer behind the glovebox. Can be difficult to do the 1st time but I prefer that method. If the check engine light is on there should be a code set, if there isn't I would suspect there may be an issue with the computer.
