2001 Tacoma 4X4 problem
My Tacoma is a 2001 regular cab 2.7L with a manual trans. The dash light indicating when my truck is in four wheel drive has gone out. Is the fact that the light has gone out mean that there is a problem with my four wheel drive system? Next question: Since the light is out I drove in four wheel drive at about 70mph for about twenty miles. Did I do any damage to the system? The low range still works but when in four high the truck does not hop on asphalt when i crank the wheel to either side, the traditional way of testing if four wheel drive is working. So I am unsure if the four high in my truck is working properly. Any help that could be given is greatly appreciated.

Re: 2001 Tacoma 4X4 problem
I am not sure what you mean by "what type of 4 wheel drive system I have." It is a manual system, not push button, with automatic hubs. I hope this helps and thanks for the interest.
