99 Catera, Coolant Leak

I own a 1999 Catera and have had numerous problems with it leaking coolant. I heard that this is a common problem on the Catera's. When still under warranty, the dealership actually replaced the heater control valve twice and some seals on the oil cooler to fix this issue in the past.

I believe that the heater control valve is again the culprit (leaking in the "middle, rear" of the engine, mostly when the car is turned of and "not" under pressure.) Was wondering if anyone has attempted to replace this valve themselves, how difficult it is to do and any tips or advice on this task?

Also, curious if anyone else has had this much problem with the coolant leaking and if you've found other consistent root causes in what appears to be a very weak system on this vehicle.

Thx.
