10" sub suggestions.

It's time to spoil myself, and I'm spending my tax return on two 10" subwoofers. Below are some guidelines.

I'm looking for:
*sound quality over sound pressure.
*up to 1500 watts @4ohms.
*money is not an issue.
*bands/styles I listen to are Dave Matthews, Sevendust, Incubus, mostly funk, rock, and lighter metal, so frequency response stats should be more in line with recorded bass guitar and kick drum, not computerized bleeps and bloops.

Suggestions, please?

Re: 10" sub suggestions.

most of the music you want will be in the midbass region (50-125 Hz). The box quality will make the biggest difference.

Re: 10" sub suggestions.

the box is 1/2 inch MDF and fiberglass, sealed, with carpet top/front and dynamat on the bottom/sides. I don't know much (read: anything) about volume/sub ratios, and sometimes I think it may be a little too big.

Re: 10" sub suggestions.

My cousin had two 10" Memphis M class subwoofers that had excellent sound quality and were very crisp. I definitely would recomend them

Re: 10" sub suggestions.

welcome to AF, Zeema.

I do have some Memphis 4x6's in the rear stock position that are excellent speakers. I'll look into their subs as well.
