Re: '86 nsr500 wip

I use pencil on the 'edges' or 'raised' areas, much like dry-brushing. Try on old painted parts, with both pencil and graphite on your finger tip!

Mud guard! good point! I have old dodgy photo's of this bike, but soon to have the 'pit walk photo book' in the mail, so if it's CF, then I'll fix it!

Thanks, I'll definitely try it.

Remember that when CF was first used it's REALLY difficult to see. I've been thinking of trying one of the older bikes, but the lack of reference photos (for most any model these days) is killing me. Aaaarrggghh!

Re: '86 nsr500 wip

Woo-hoo! found time to work!

Swingarm fitted to Chassis, will add final details when motor is fitted, like brake components painted, wired up etc....hey! the fender is CF! but like said, is very hard to notice, will spray subtle CF (not decal).

Went to all the trouble of fitting a chrome shaft in the shock, will probably wont be able to see it! Must also finish paint/details to it.

Thin cut masking tape for coolant plumbing, will paint matt black then dry-brush w/grey then add hose clamps, should look great?

Added black artist chalk to white lettering for raced look, happy!

Very nice job.

Not wanting to stray of the topic but some of the thicker guitar wires are perfect for electrical wires for the Airfix 1/12 Bentley 4.5. Yes, I know it's very specific but it's the most accurate replica part I ever seen. You can see the wire with the spiral wrap here:

Re: '86 nsr500 wip

I forgot this build! I am planning on 're-building my build' as I have found a mega load of photo's.

Problem is, all of my parts/tools are on a container ship! I have moved to Japan. (will save on parts delivery!)

Photo's soon. If the ship does not sink.
