Your 16 and your parents are going to get you a 2003 NSX?
I would go with a 96 NSX (Better looking IMO) and mod it as in rims, lowering, probably some engine work. Or you can get a f355 Ferrari with the money of a new NSX. I would rather drive a ferrari.

I would never reccomend any sports car for a 16 year old. Everyone should have several years of driving experience before sitting in a car with that kind of power.

definitely a bad idea. a sixteen year old needs something that can take a beating, as it takes a while to get used to parking/driving in general and dings will occur. also, (although it sounds like money isn't an issue here) insurance would be stratospheric (extremely high.) not to mention almost everyone wants to live past their sixteenth year, and putting an inexperience driver in such a powerful machine is just asking for a quick jump off the mortal coil. buy something more tame to begin with and get the NSX later. maybe start with an RSX, a V6 mustang/camaro, or even a sports sedan like a lexus IS300. these are all entry-level performance cars that are fun to drive, reasonably safe, and not extremely expensive. i just turned 18 and am on my second car--first being a 1995 Dodge Intrepid which i dented and bent and everything else, but it was decent for a sixteen year old. i would just recommend getting something else and driving it for a year or two before getting a performance car.

Re: Acura Nsx For 16 Year Old
I just turned 17 and I'm driving nothing like I did at this time last year. Had I had a car like an NSX or even a WRX I'd probably be dead. I had pretty much no concern over how fast I went, and after two months I finally got pulled over and realized that I needed to slow down.

a subaru wrx or sti would be safer, cheaper, and still extremely cool cars, but again, if you want to live to see seventeen i'd get something slower. the wrx is faster than a mustang GT and the sti is near-corvette performance-definitely not safe.

An Nsx for a 16 year old? absolutely awesome what a father! oh my goodness... but I would really suggest he learn the basic driving skills road and highway on something a little more tame.... Plus I am sure you all see the people that no matter how much they drive are just naturally awful drivers. If your son is (and you can tell) I would be very very cautious giving him a car with that kind of power...

By all means, buy it, don't let anybody stop you.
Although i should note, your insurance costs will eventually dig you in deeper than the cost of the car itself.

I'm from greenwich connecticut, its so weird up here, 3 out of 5 cars are either bmw's or merecdes, it's so annoying, even though merecedes is my favorite car, i dont wanna brag or nothing, and i aint rich either, well not yet, I JUST HAVE ONE question why would insurance be so expensive for an nsx, i could put it under my pop's name, he only has to probably pay like 200 or 300 every 6 months, since he has perfect driving record.
