So far mine seems unique enough that nobody else has mentioned it, but I wouldn't mind if someone else started the same thing. There are so many things you can do to this car. Do a search for "Locost".

Maisto has a line of 1/24 scale Harleys. Being toys the engines are not as great as a model kit's, but it's a decent starting point. I got mine for $3 but they aren't easy to find in stores. You might need to get someone to mail you one, or check eBay.

BTW it's been done in 1:1.

I'm going to have to check my LHS tonight.
I got mine from my LHS, they didn't have it in stock so they special ordered it for me. I still paid the $13 list price, but I didn't have to pay shipping.

(Plus I had a $10 member reward certificate from the LHS, so the whole thing came to $3 )

I've almost finished a build that I'm working on, so I'll be starting it very soon - hopefully this weekend!

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

Well all I am a boring old fart....

I'm a purist and am going to go with the original 1960s Super 7 "Prisoner" edition. I did a kwik bit of Googlin' last night and it hooked me into the idea - turns out that The Prisoner has an on-going cult status, they are going to remake the TV series and there si even talk of making a film version?!?!?!

It was this TV series that "launched" the Seven and I'm going to pay it homage with my build - working title for thread is "at Sixes and Sevens" (get it? get it? )

I am also going to bore everyone to death with interesting trivia about the prisoner series and do my best to start an AF "prisoner" fan club with oiur own sig and t-shirt!!

Here's the T-shirt design...

KAR 120C heeeeere I come!!!!

Hopefully I'll come up with a couple ideas to make it slightly less 100% OOB but no slicing 'n splicing for me

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

I'm getting so excited about this build! I've been thinking about supercharging the stock engine, maybe upgrade the interior a bit. Wheel swap, nice paint... oh, and a 1/24 Triumph Bonneville to sit next to it!

This is gonna be great!

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

I was never a huge fan of the seven's not disliked but not liked, kinda just there lol . But seeing the great ideas has led me to my own great ideas and seing that the kit is pretty cheap n simple ii might be able to have time to squeeze it in later.

More than anything i am a fan of the idea, The giant group build will be a great way to bring together an already close group of great modelers here on AF! This should be successful and hopefully can lead to others in the future.

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

Ok...Not the STi boxer tho Andy. It would work, but I would've had to modify the body even more. It's a Brat motor that is going under that sexy, slender hood. I'm trying to use the carbs from the kit's engine. The boxer block looks sooo bare tho I was even thinking or AWD..but the front axle shafts would have to be at an extreme angle...but it's still a thought

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

I'm in, gotta order one. I'm thinking maybe the 6 from the AMT Prowler kit might work. but then I thought about it, something just seems off about it. gonna have to think about it for a bit before I build it.

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

Aren't all the Prowler kits 1/25? The Tamiya 7 is 1/24, but then the small engine may work to your advantage.

The 1/24 Citation has a turbo V6 in it if you're looking for a low-cost V6, and so does the Revell NSX. Whichever one you choose you'd need to convert it to north/south configuration.

thats why I was thinking of the AMT Prowler. would be easy to fit it between those close together fenders. or I could stuff a HEMI in it out of the Monogram 71 cuda. i'm thinking that motor is as wide as the car though

Any Revell motor will be about 1/25th. And I don't mind if you wanna borrow my ideas, just ask first, please! Though, I do admit I haven't played all my cards yet, so mine will still be pretty unique. Only Teran knows all of my plans.

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

.....would rebodying the 7 in a 21 stylee be a bit too much?
I mean, does it have to keep the 7 shape?
Am i allowed to shorten/stretch the chassis? Wheelbase? Track?
How much modifying is allowed?

Re: AF Super Seven Group Build!

This isn't really a contest, and there aren't really any rules except that you have to start with that particular kit...
