You know you need to get rid of your govener when...

... you lose to a minivan.

ok ok.. let me explain before I get flamed here..

It was about 9.30-10PM Saturday night. Me and my friend (the one with the 05 Z71 Silverado) just got done talking to everyone at the turkey shoot, and decided to hit the road, and head back into town, so I could get some fuel.

We get to merge on I95, and doing so, a new Chevy minivan flies past me doin about 80 (in a 65-or so.) I figure what the hell, I got some "Dont Violate" playing, and felt like speeding, so I jump on it, and catch up to it. I guess he notices me comming up fast, so he jumps on it and takes it up to 95-100. By now, my friend is WAY behind me, so I slow it down to around 50, to let him catch up.

I guess he saw all the fun we were having, and wants to go. We go from a 60 roll, and take it up to 100. By now, we've caught up to that Chevy van again, which had slowed down to wait for me? Heh. I pass him doin about 90, and start to slow back down. I'm doin about 70, with my friend pacing me, when the van flies past, which what seemed like almost 120. I say "HELL NO" and take off, leaving my buddy's Z71 in the dust... the van slowed back down so I could catch up, and once I got right behind him, at around 90, we both took off simutaneously. By the time we hit 110, I was right behind him, untill I hit my 115 govener, and the van started to pull away (He must have went to 120-or so)

I did some research, and those new Chevy vans have a 3.9L 240HP engine.

So, why haven't you got rid of the governor yet?

Haha, that sucks though. But who races a mini van? I mean people who drive mini vans are usually soccer moms. Maybe a teenage kid "borrowed" it for the night.

I still don't get why you enjoy racing Ford's junk cars over the SS Camaro. I hope you don't win the lottery. "Let's see I can go to the Cannoball race with the Ferrari Enzo, C6 Z06, Murcielago, or my favorite the SVT Ford Focus. I think i'll take the Focus."

Nice loss anyways.

Yeah those turbo minivans are sick. I saw several in the paper for $1-2K used. It's insane how cheap they are, though I dunno about their reliability.

in sport compact car magazine it talks about how you can buy dodge's 2.5 turbo block in junkyards for around 100$ a piece ( the turbo omni 2.5l turbo swap)...basically blow one up, drop another hundred and drop one in who cares about reliabity when they are that cheap!?

also, practically all the mounts for all of dodges cars and vans for those years are the same so any engine in any car you want to try
