Urgent Help Needed

Hello,

I own an Alfasud 1.5 and after 1 year of not driving the car, I tried to start it. After a good start and a nice sound from the engine, I let the engine work slowly and after I checked for leaks from the oil system and the cooling system and that the fan works and well too, I started to accelerate to 2000- 2500 rpm not more.
At one moment a cloud of smoke came from the engine compartment and from the egzost pipe from the rear of the car.
I tryed to accelerate moderatly again and then there was a knocking sound.
I switch off the engine and felt hopeless.
I checked in that the timing markings on the camshafts are alighned with the markings on the housing of the camshaft to see if the timing belt was torn but it seemed OK.

The engine was pretty hot although the fan worked and stoped and the gauge showed a normal temp.

I checked the oil which I changed prior to starting the engine and it was colorless, like it didn't flow from the oil carter at the buttom of the engine to the pistons.

Maybe my oil pump stoped working?

Please help since the car is standing and in the worst timing like always...
I can't efford taking it to the garage is there any thing I can do by myself?
I have another Alfasud for parts maybe I can use some of it?

Thank you,
Dov

See http://www.alfaowner.com (33, alfasud section) I reposted your post on their site but they were not too optimistic about your alfasud situation
