i know this an old thread but its so quiet here!
the U12 SR20 uses a top mount, the U13 uses a small front mount, right in the centre of the front bar, not side mounted like similar vintage Nissans. |

Re: bluebird
Beings as people are from like every corner of the world, and nissan USA did some crazy things its hard to say if what i'm saying is the absolute truth. i come from australia, and i know the performance specs on the u13 'bluebird' are the same as the U13 'altima'.
i didn't think the US ever got the SSS Attesa although it was design for climates like the US. anyway the U13 SSS attesa had a front mount intercooler, it looks exactly the same as the US first generation 'altima' except it has a small cut out in the bumper for the intercooler and large in-bumper fog lights under the front indicators. the U12 SSS looked exactly the same as a car called the 'Pintara' in Australia. it came with the SR20DET or the CA18DET this model has a top mount intercooler. this intercooler is fed by ducts that run under the bonnet! thats the spec for japan, and the ones we get over in australia that are privately imported. hope its the same elsewhere |

Re: bluebird
old thread, but a good one.
I have aqquired all the pieces of a Bluebird (U12) intercooler (including all bracketry), and intend to mount it in the stock position on my '92 NX2000. I will also be using a T-28, rather than a T-25. This means I have to slightly modify the "clocking" of the compressor outlet pipe. So my question: Does anyone have a .pdf or link to a diagram showing exactly how all the intercooler support brackets bolt to the motor? Maybe like a page from a U12 factory service manual. I've been searching google and all over, so far nothing. I'm confident that I could puzzle it out, but a picture or diagram would speed things along. Thanks! |

Re: bluebird
I have an Attesa SSS Limited 1990...it has a top-mounted Intercooler. Anyway, if u want some photos or something for the intercooler and connection, I can supply them (Mine is a big chunky intercooler, not the slim flat one found on GTiR's)
