1981 Chevette

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the oil pan with out pulling the motor?

Yes,but oil pan gaskets don't leak very often its usually a front or rear crank shaft that is misdiagnosed.

The pan gasket wasn't leaking. I wanted to replace the oil pump because I thought it was shot. Turns out the person who replaced the head plugged up the oil galleries leading to the cam house with RTV. Runs good now.

Yup i am sure you can change the oil pump. or else you can get it replaced completely that should work fine.
