What color Antifreeze!

What color Antifreeze has the best rust inhibitors?
I have seen alot of bad freeze plugs, and Dual Climate control valves (DCCV).
All Makes and models Prestone long life 5-year/100k miles is probably the same as other dyed
organic antifreeze.

The Prestone old Green isn't enviroment safe.

Re: What color Antifreeze!

The pink/100,000 mile coolant has superior rust inhibitors, but I have also read there has been problems with the pink stuff deteriorating the radiator hose if it's left in for 5 years. Some still use it, but change it every 2 years as they would the green to prevent deterioration it could cause.

Re: What color Antifreeze!

Stick with the "color" that's recommended for your vehicle. They're formulated or specified by the vehicle manufacturer to work best with your car/truck. Changing colors, especially without completely flushing the old stuff out, can cause the two types to interact, gel up, and clog your system.
