2003 F150 IMRC P1518 Code
2003 F150 4.2 P1518 Code. We are trying to correct the code issue. We checked the back of the engine and can see that both IMRC rods are disconnected. We can turn the intake runner valve linkage without any issue. What I do not understand is how it works. We manually moved the intake runner valve linkage and the code did not go away. How then does the module sense the position of the intake runner butterfly valves on each bank? This is driving be crazy to understand how this works. I plan to pull the plenum, replace the isolator bolts, gaskets and the IMRC module. I hope this works.
