A GREAT Story, you HAVE to read this!!!! DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU
Ok listen to this, I work for pepsi here in indiana. My job is basically going around to all the stores (wal mart, kroger, etc.) and filling the pepsi shelves with product from the back. I just get into a wal mart and i get to the vendor aisle. I lay my jacket inside the pepsi shelve about 2 feet from where i am at. So my jacket has my 3000gt Keys (keyless entry) and my cell phone. I squat down to take count on the 12 packs of mountain dew. I stand back up after getting count, my jacket is GONE! So i go to lost and found after searching the whole story completely. They havent seen it, so they make an announcment to make everyone on the lookout for a pepsi jacket, all associates or whatever. At this point i am VERY PISSED. I walk out to my car just hoping someone is sitting inside of it so i can beat the living shit out of them. OH AND to make things better, wal mart wont bother checking the cameras even though they have the footage because i dont a police report (which must have been filed 24 hours within the incident) .It has been about 2 weeks now since this all happened. I lost my Pepsi jacket which contained my keyless entry, keys, and cell phone which i had to disconnect. I am stuck using the spare keys which suck.
- My question is now should I search for an aftermarket keyless entry with possibly pop up trunk and remote start or should i look to mitsubishi for another OEM keyless system. If i look to the oem mitsubishi one can it be programed again to fit my stock locking system and work the exact same as my old one or would pulling wires and puting brand new ones in have to be the route? |

You can program new remotes for your car. Check stealth316 for details.

yea that is odd because i have 2 spare keys and sometimes my ignition key will open the trunk and other times i cant open it all with any key. Same with my doors though too, sometimes the drivers side wont unlock but the pass. will and when i open the pass. side i notice that the drivers side was unlocked the whole time! Weird....

Yall better get new keys, if the alarm goes off that is the only way to shut it off. It doesn't matter how many times you turn the ignition on or off, your alarm will be going off while driving, or anytime you open the doors.

Re: A GREAT Story, you HAVE to read this!!!! DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU
Here is the programming procedure for remotes if you need it:
DODGE STEALTH / MITSUBISHI 3000GT REMOTE PROGRAMMING 1. Remove the hatch cover. 2. Remove the rear seat as follows: Pull on the two handles at the forward edge of the seat bottom. This will unlatch it so you can lift out the whole seat bottom. Remove the left side rear seatback, by undoing the two 12-mm bolts, which are at its base. 3. Remove the left rear panel as follows: Unscrew the rearmost screw on the scuff plate (the plastic strip that sits over the rocker panel.) Unscrew the single screw on the cover over the rear seatbelt retractor, and lift off this cover. Remove all the screws holding on the large panel. The only tricky part is getting to the two screws at the rear seatbelt retractor - there is not much space, so you will need a short screwdriver. I used a long Phillips screwdriver bit with a socket and it was easy. You don't need to take off any seatbelts - just let the panel hang with the seatbelt still through it. 4. The receiver is the large box forward of the speaker. There is a 3-position switch on it marked SET 1 - FIX - SET 2. You will find it easier to access this switch if you remove the receiver from the car body. Move the switch to either SET position (the two SET positions are in case you have two transmitters with different codes), so that the receiver will learn the new code. Press either button on the new transmitter. Move the switch back to FIX, to retain the code. Test the new remote operation - it should work. 5. Reassemble everything, making sure that the antenna connector is snug in the receiver. You're done.
