GTO vs. new STI - highway battle.

Computer simulation:

So im heading to work and Im kinda late, Im jumping in and out of lanes around the slow ass geriatric filth of this city when I end up behind a brand new STI. Cute little thing, it was white with sliver rims, completely stock.

Well the guy is in front of me and starts jumping in and out of lanes so im like " freaking awsome, at least someone else out here knows how to drive." I tail him and eventually i end up behind him at a red light. he starts reving at me and making hand gestures out his window. Im starting to think he thinks he can take me. Okay I tail him till we end up on the on ramp to the highway.

Hes in front and as soon as he clears the bend and has a straight shot onto the highway he guns it. I was already in second clearing the bend and gun it a bit behind him. all through 2nd Im even out with him, we his the highway and im into 3rd, hes already shifted twice which mean his rally purposed close ratio transmission is already climbing through fourth gear and i havent even stretched my legs yet.

As soon as i clear onto the highway I start to pull on him and hard, i shift into 4th as I pass him and I passed him fast! I had to swerve hard to the left to avoid going right through him. I climb 4th to about half way up my rev line when i realized he turned into a cute little white dot. I was already upstairs of 110 mph so I let off and never saw him again.

i wonder if he let off the gas or if I really took him....

Yo Joe!

Good stuff Musashi3000GT! I know just a little about the new STI and even less about the GTO. I see the hood vents on the goat so I think that means it's running the LS6 or LS2 motor. I mix them up. If that's right I'm also guessing this was about 230whp/3200lbs vs. 320whp/3600lbs. Is that about right?

Musashi now has 381whp. Mush, have you broken 12's yet? What did you end up trapping? I would guess 110mph roughly. You should definately be into the 12's by now but I would bet that would be tough to hook up in. I know my car well driven would hit high 12's but you would still smoke me from a roll. Glad to see you posting agian.

His Goat has the LS2 motor like you guessed, and only 230whp? and at 3200lbs?

Far off my friend, The LS2's made 400hp/400tq stock, so it would be in the area of 320-340whp stock. And unfortunately, they weigh in around 3700-3800lbs. Not exactly a Miata, but still decently nimble for the size and power output.

Re: GTO vs. new STI - highway battle.

The "230whp/3200lbs" was in reference to the Subaru.

Bah... my mistake.

That's what I get for skimming a thread after being up all night at work.

But even after admitting that I'm wrong, I'm still going to say you're wrong so I can sleep better at night... so there. I win.

bwahahah.

Re: GTO vs. new STI - highway battle.

Wow...those STI's have a fuckload of drivetrain loss, eh? I'd better try to race a few new ones quick before they get turbo upgrades and bigger IC's. lol. I can handle 230...I can't handle 400!

Dude, what game is this? Sounds better than NFS Undercover. Though I'm really starting to dig Pro Street...

If you ever are in the DFW area, I got an STI you should play against, might be pretty fun run.

Re: GTO vs. new STI - highway battle.

Glad to hear you are still having fun with the goat. I've been driving my beater way too much lately...the only exciting moments are when you hit bumps and parts don't fall off.

Oddly enough, I find those to be some of the funnest cars.
