2.4l Galant AC Bypass Belt or Pulley Question
Hello all,
My daughter has a 01 Galant ES 2.4l that the AC compressor froze on. Has anyone successfully bypassed the Compressor on a Galant. If so, what size belt did you use or pulley. Please do not respond with guessing. I know that this can be done on other cars, but I have not found any proof that it can be done with this car. Anyone with experience with the 2.4l motor please hook me up with some info. Thanks! Paul |

Re: 2.4l Galant AC Bypass Belt or Pulley Question
With the way that the belt is run, the a/c compressor is needed to run the belt properly. The tensioner wouldn't have enough leverage to tighten the belt.

Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it although, I was hoping you weren't going to say that. The shop wants about $1k to repair.
