repsol honda rc211v '03(nicky hayden)

hi guys,

i've been thinking of doing nicky hayden's version of the repsol '03 since i've made rossi's version & i have saved a space for it in my glass shelf since then.

before the kit arrives & begin to make, i have a some questions to ask.

1. i would be using the s27 p/e sets & i understand that i can't use the usual tamiya cement, right? what do i use to stick the p/e sets? super glue?

2. how do i set the foot peg? which one does nicky hayden normally used cause the instruction didn't mention which type foot peg is used by hayden. besides that, i'm wondering, how do i prepare a mold for the peg?

hi guys,

since i've just started the kit as it arrives yesterday, i tried to put a p/e part on the exhaust muffler. i first tried to use the tamiya quick cement, but somehow it didn't stick properly. so, i used the super glue, it leaks so much so i tried to use tissues to stop it from oozing but caught some of my skin on my fingers & the mufflers. so, the muffler seems to have some excess of the tissues.

Aceton works miracle on super glue (nail paint remover), just don't use it on plastic as it will damage it. Super glue is very strong, when you use it the best thing is to put it on some plastic card and then apply it to the model by tooth pick, that way you will avoid to much glue on the model.
Good luck, just remember not to use to much of super glue.

Re: repsol honda rc211v '03(nicky hayden)

hi guys,

i've just completed the engine. here are the photos with 2 different angles. sorry that the photos aren't bright enough cause the weather today is cloudy & my room looks a little bit dark even if i turned on my table lamp.

in this photo, i put a pe part that has the 'honda' wordings on it but seems to be not clear on the cam.

as for this photo, i used the clutch which is provided from the kit & i also used the pe part for the honda wording but doesn't seem to be clear in that area too on the cam. i tried to make it look like the '03 version as i've seen that the word honda is placed in another position as tamiya only provide the layout for the '02 but i didn't have the right sandpaper to delete the mold. so, i end up still using the '02 layout.

i will do the tyres & the swing arm tonight.

hi guys,

i've completed both the frame & the swing arm. here are the photos in different sides.

frame

swing arm

for the first swing arm photo, i tried to shoot near to focus on the pe part that i've placed but somehow it got too blur. so i circled it to point out the pe part.

as for the exhaust, it's done for. i've tried to place the holder but somehow i got some difficulty & it broke in the end. the exhaust parts i used are from the remains from the valencia kit that i've made. so at least i got another exhaust muffler to spare from the repsol '03 kit itself.

hi guys,

here are the photos of the exaust with springs attached in different angles. as i have said just now, the exhaust from the above is done for, so i used the new one.

the front fork set in the photos below are the details up part from tamiya.

for the 2nd photo of the front fork above, i've managed to paint the word brembo after a few tries. took me a while to pull that one.

Damn you're quick!!! Looks really great! Thanks for sharing your skills. Would appreciate a bit more info during the process though... any hazzles or heads ups for us that sooner or later will build the kit.
