Re: need a yank conversion

"Rodeo"s are generally Isuzu SUV's, the same as old honda passports. Taht doesnt look like one though.
That thing looks almost like a chevy avalanche..or..something. I dunno. But it's def. GM if its Holden.

iirc, they stopped making the Isuzu Rodeo's in 2004.

Re: need a yank conversion

I may be mistaken but I believe the closest we have to the rodeo is the chevy colorado and GMC canyon?

Re: need a yank conversion

My old 1998 was an Izuzu, but since 2005 maybe they have made this shape Rodeo.

the Canyon has the same interior only much higher spec.

Re: need a yank conversion

It looks very similar on the exterior to the Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon here it the states, but they only come with a 2.8L 4-cyl or 3.5L 5-cyl gas engines. The Holden shows a 2.4L 4-cyl, 3.6L V-6 or diesel, none of which are available on the stateside models. It appears that it's a Holden specific model that may or may not share underpinnings (brakes, suspension, etc...) with it's American counterparts.

the old izuzu pickup was a chevy s10 rebadged. I think the headlights and grill were slightly altered. Similar to how the rodeo and colorado are slightly different.

The old S-10 and blazer are still produced in some parts of the world with slightly updated front ends.http://www.chevrolet.com.ar check under trucks 4x4 vehicles

Alot of vehicles have different engine options overseas, A diesel option is available on many vehicles overseas. We never seem to get the diesels over here because they have gotten a bad rap over the years as being dirty, noisy, and polluting etc.

Check out the link I posted of the s10 and blazer that is being sold in I believe south america, it only comes in diesel.

Re: need a yank conversion

I believe what Aussie is looking for is parts interchangeability. Since there are a multitude of differences (RH vs LH drive, the engine options, etc...), I would be hesitant to say they are based on the same architecture. There are lots of overseas/poor countries that use old model design vehicles. Hell, VW was still producing the air cooled Beetle in Mexico just a few years ago.

Re: need a yank conversion

I thought the Ute is based on the Commodore platform, which is/was the Lumina here, although the Holden is RWD.

I'd think the closest thing here is the GTO...

Re: need a yank conversion

I just took a look at Holden site, the new Commodore looks like the new Malibu...

Re: need a yank conversion

pS I heard rumors that Chevy is considering bringing back the El Camino...if they do, I suspect it will be a re-badged Holden Ute...
