Re: Bow Before Thy Mater, Bitches (Pics/ My Project)

Wow, you got him to change his sig for you AGAIN! You're on a roll CB!

Have you decided what you're gonna do for the substage yet? I'm having a hard time deciding between a RE SE 15 and an Atlas 15...

Re: Bow Before Thy Mater, Bitches (Pics/ My Project)

0ed out as in no trebble or bass alterations? no, the trebel is down about 2 notches and the bass up about 2 notches (pos 8" "rampage") for rock and for rap i play it as clipped as i can get it for as long as i can stand it, still trying to blow this POS but it just wont go...

Re: Bow Before Thy Mater, Bitches (Pics/ My Project)

oh, BTW your sig isnt very short anymore

as for a sub stage, its pending...as soon as i get my vacume leak fixed and the $500 for my next insurenace payment (which isnt due untill october but i geuss better safe than sorry) i can make a sure decision...when you are a minor parents own your world
but its an SX 18 unless i can talk my parents into a XXX18...i mean its only a measly (yeah right, measly) $145 more... as for now i am doing cheap modifications, such as the Big 3 and exaust....

Re: Bow Before Thy Mater, Bitches (Pics/ My Project)

OK, I've been curious for a while now why you want an 18" sub in that little truck... The boxes required for those are huge, even sealed, and three 12" subs would have about the same output, right? I mean there's the obvious WOW factor of having a sub that big 4 inches behind you, plus you can get a couple Hz lower into the subsonic range. I'd just like to hear your reasoning.

Should have added a few smilies in there like...

etcetera...

As always, it's hard to portray emotions/sarcasm/seriousness on the net. I wasn't literally yelling...I was puzzled about it being "harsh" off of only 30 watts...

Re: Bow Before Thy Mater, Bitches (Pics/ My Project)

My CDTs are like that too... when pointed at you at moderate volumes, the tweeters seem to overpower the woofers/sub, and end up sounding harsh. When bounced off the glass, it reduces the volume and blends in the high notes so it sounds balenced. I don't know if this is a audio illusion, but that's what seems is happening.

a sub stage ? now that's funny

bouncing the tweeters off the glass just increases the treble by increasing the near field reflections .... and it also smears the image

Re: Bow Before Thy Mater, Bitches (Pics/ My Project)

eh, this is outta nowhere but

i just got my 13kv.2 in, 350rms, 1 cu. ft. sealed, 90hz n down, 24db slope, pretty much the same settings as the type R......

i am not impressed, the type R had it beat in every way, it got louder and sounded cleaner

12" type R $115
13kv.2 $125 + $15 because the sub was DOA and i needed to pay to ship it back

should have just got the 05 type R for $120

which part didn't you get ..... ?

a soundstage refers to how the intruments and voices are placed in front of you - sub bass is omnidirctional, so you're not gonna get much "stage" out of it

placing mids/tweets in close proximity to a hard surface will make them sound "bright" because the early reflections are so close to the actual sound. When you put tweeters facing the front glass, it tends to smear the image accross the dash.

there are a bunch of reasons....
-1- 3 12's cost more.... say 3 atlas 12's is $435, oh and would require mot airspace than an XXX 18....
-2- i was thinking 2 atlas 15's...but that required more airspace than a XXX 18 as well
-3-one of the bigger reasons i am going for a huge bass set up is to make the following shut up:
-4-Dubass friend who thinks 4 w1v2's are the end all set up for under 1500 total for subs
-5-Dumbass audio shop who beleives a w7 13 is the end all in loud and clean bass with out spending 10's of thousands
-6-Dumbass kids around my school who call me retarded when i tell them i can get a sub with better SQ than a w3v2 for around $200 and still get just loud
-7-Dumbass kids who, no matter what i show then, beleive that Adire and RE is nothing but flea market trash

as for substage, its wrong to call it that, but what i mean is the stage of speakers that reproduces subbass frequincies.

sorry if i blow up over stupid things, nsgm13, but im stressed over getting all of my lattin assignments turned in on time, school getting out, and final exams comming up along with tryng to keep up with my lab book in chemistry...alongwith a few personal issures at the moment... i feel like i am going nuts
