I have been looking at the superchargers for the 3.1 3100 SFI engine for the malibu and it is over priced for me :-( 6 grand is a lot of money for me, I dont know if i will go quite that far yet.

I was thinking about getting a 3800 engine swap for $800. Its a 3.8 liter v6 engine. It has 240 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. This is only 5-10 lower horsepower then the supercharger. and cheaper! :-)

just something to think about

How are you going to get an engine swap for only $800? I would really like to know because if it is that cheap im definatly going to do the same but i was always told it cost alot more than that so i never really looked into it.

fix

hey sorry i forgot the 3...its $3800 for a brand new engine, installation could be a lot depending on where you go. A new engine to me is a better deal than a supercharger.

does the 3800 fit the engine mounts, I belive the engine will bolt up to the transmisiion but does the 4t65e fit on the smae mounting points as the 4t40e. Does anyone know if the 3.4l tdc or Dohc fit. Or if any other engines will fit in with the same mounts? It's something i've been considering doing for awhile, right now its just stock.
