2004 Malbu Maxx LT, squeeky belt attachment
i'm referring to where the belt locks into the attachment where the red button is at wherr you can press and release the belt. why is this thing so squeeky? it's annoying, very annoying actually. what can be done to stop this?

Have you maxed out your warranty already? If not take it back to the dealer and have them look into it. That's the best part of a new car....no maintenance for you. Otherwise, try using some type of lubricant to stop the metal on metal contact your probably hearing. Try a white lithium spray or something.

yes i have a 2004 so the warranty is still valid obviously. looks like the belt is rubbing againts the seat actually so spray wouldn't be helpful. i guess im screwed, but if someone has an idead let me know!

Your call but I would have the dealer look into it. What your mentioning is referred to as a BSR (buzz,squeak,rattle) issue. If my vehicle did that I would have them replace the seat if necessary.
