2008 Caravan SE Brake warning light
I'm working on a 2008 Grand Caravan SE 3.3L
Brake warning light (!) on dash is on. Datastream on my OTC Genisys shows that the Brake fluid level switch is 'ON'. The van does not have pad wear indicators; fluid is full; there are no leaks in the system; no brake pull, uneven braking or other performance issues. Scantool says Park Brake is off and I disconnected it to be sure. When checking connector at switch on the master, one wire has continuity to ground and the other has about 12.5V on the DMM but won't light my test light. I subscribed to Haynes on-line manual but there are no schematics for this circuit. If anyone has the wiring diagram or any suggestions, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks! |

Does the (!) refer to this symbol ?:
If yes, that is the tire pressure monitoring light. Quote:

Re: 2008 Caravan SE Brake warning light
I managed to find a wiring diagram yesterday and the the circuit should actually be a 5V circuit. Ohhmed out the wiring between the fluid level sensor and the TIPM. Good continuity and no shorts to ground or B+.
I'm thinking the TIPM is fried but the things are foolishly expensive. Any thoughts before I go and drop $500 on this thing? |

Re: 2008 Caravan SE Brake warning light
I take it there's no continuity through the switch?

Re: 2008 Caravan SE Brake warning light
I was surprised to find that it's actually not a switch. It's a variable resistor sensor. Spec says 9000-11000 Ohms and it is within spec.
The wiring diagram symbol is: images.png |
