Agreed! I'll let you know what he says; he actually thanked all of us who viewed the R35 widebody he's selling. Now that's aggressive marketing...

I doubt an engine will be produced but nowadays with 3d printing being used more and more you never know. I just wish our hobby wasn't a dying breed.

Hobbydesign facebook link?

Hey,

I just remembered to ask the question (and sent it about ten minutes ago). You'll need to ask it of the person who has an account on behalf of the company:

The hobby isn't dying; it's alive and well on Fb, just unfortunately not here on the forums as it used to be.

Anyway, the quote from Hobby Design on making an engine insert for the Beemax e30 is yes.

"About the BMW engines , I will plan to produce the engine on later time."

I think that's their plan with everything. Celica, Civic, all have full bay detail with no engine. Presumably if sales proved it profitable.

I can't believe no one has made the engine for that Civic yet. Talk about a product that would sell out fast.

Probably because all that hard work to get a proper CAD or even scratch built designed engine would get ripped off almost immediately now days. Not saying there aren't tons of buyers for the civic and other engines (I'm still surprised there aren't any better Nissan SR20 options) but look at the "modified" Revell B-series, Sakatsu F20c, Tamiya/Aoshima VR38 versions being resold or recast out there.

I hear ya...But HD isn't afraid. Well after there were plenty of F20cs and RB26DETTs on the market, they designed their own and sold out of them at more than $40 apiece. They know their market.

Can't argue with that. HD has definitely stepped up their game with improved resin cast quality and CAD designed products since first entering the market what seems so long ago. Their latest iterations of wheel and engine sets are a testament to the then and now quality comparison.

I'm glad they're revisiting a lot of older subjects with PE sets and other accessories.

I asked HD, they said it is planned. Maybe if more people ask them, the plan would materialize sooner.
