That is a great tip. How much does an airbrush cost like that one? It doesn't have to be a tamiya one.

If you want a topload like that one, they go for around £100 here.
I have one and love it to bits. Really easy to clean as you harldy put any paint in it! |

What is a good cheap one that has an adjustable nozzle. One that can spray wide and narrow for detailing.

the trouble with most is the fact they are suction fed, which deteriorates quickly when the seals harden, plus you need a lot of paint because the gun has to suck it up!

Go with a Badger 350 - easiest model for beginers. It has a bottle feed (from the bottom), it's easy to assemble/dissassemble, and doesn't cost too much in the first place.
As for the exhaust tip - I don't like it. Looks Very cheesy - I like my models to look like they had just rolled off the Factory floor  .

The problem with weathering, and I think this is the answer to a debate which is older than any one here is: Once you've whethered on part, you can't stop. Next you have to add tyre wear, scoring on the brake discs, bugs, oil stains, dirt, worn seats, etc etc.
If your going to add realism to a car, to make it look a little used, then you need to make all of it used. But if your going for straight off the show room floor look, then you don't want to add wear any where. If your going to Weather parts, you have to weather the whole car to keep it all in balance.

Thanks Jay! I've only just started to mix and match paints - I have so many old paints just laying around, I may as well put two together to make a new color (notice the 3 2's
?).I made a beautiful color from Olive drab green by adding some metalic dark blue. It now is the perfect color to put on the Japanese Army version of the Zero. I'm definately going to make that Silverstone paint - great name for it too !
