Looking forward to this one, was thinking the same by using the same Revell kit body. Knowing your previus projects, this one will come out as another stunning model.

By the way, Modeler Jim Drew is doing this car also, but he is using a fiberglas slot car body with lots of modifications, is turning out fantastic and beautiful.

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

thanks guys, glad you also like this nice car.
Would love to see also Jim drew model in progress, it can help me and give tips during the build.

So here we come, the revell snap kit is dated 2015, and it seems the only choiche to have a body of the newest ford supercar. The racer version is of course wider and has many different parts from the street car.
Revell made a good job with main lines of the machine. Of course being a toy too many details are missing or just very approximative. The first part of the building then will be concentrated in detail a little more the basic plastics.

My first step then will be achieve as much pics as i can to upgrade the body. Unfortunately this time I didnt find a good blueprint as when I build up the 991 RSR, but I think I can do it anyway..

the stuff u get into small revell snap kit is this one..

and of course the final look straight from the box looks a little bit toyish..

(those last 2 pics are not mine but give an idea..).
as said..a toy, but better than nothing or better than a metal body usually tricky to cut and modify.

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

so I started cut rear wing and fix better the preglued plastics, as well as filling the many plastic gaps around.
Rims I will use similar ones from HD in resin. they look ok, just the central bolt is different

Re: Ford GT 2016 LM 1/24

You probably know that Profil 24 is making the race version in resin.

You'll have fun doing the conversion if that's your goal anyway.
