Re: Dino 206 sp

and is also time to proceed with this little beauty.

I cleaned a little bit the rear vents, and tested the vacuformed windshield:

the lower floor I will cut away and rebuild all the area with styrene. I just must understand a little better the gearbox.
Upper part of the engine is the dino unit inside enthusiast model of the 246 gts from fujimi.

Re: Dino 206 sp

Lee your stunning model is giving me an incredible help how ho to do the engine bay in this Dino. Think the gearbox could be similar between those 2 cars. The same for the inner chassis. Thanks too much really for your wonderful pics. I really hope I can make something here similar to your mfh. The Dino deserves it.

Re: Dino 206 sp

time for a little progress also with my Dino.
The front lights are fitted. The vacuform parts are really clear and shaped well, however, is not easy to get the correct shape of such curved area. I made some dimes with tamiya masking tape. Of course all the inner parts must be fixed now and sealed

the main problem of this project is time. SO for now I made the hinges for rear hatch. cant exclude to finish temporary without engine, cause gearbox needs to be scratchbuild

and then time for a first layer of primer and starting paint the wheels

....and nearly forget... Happy Easter all out there

Re: Dino 206 sp

спасибо my friend !

so now time to fix the mechanical parts. As said the main unit is coming from fujimi EM 246 kits. Untortunately just a part can be usable. In this car position and transaxle are different, but at least headers are mouded realy well.
The bellhousing and the gearbox must be rebuild, indeed, and the 2 big brakes also.

Some nice pics helps a lot, like this one:

where I can note also the lower part of the car is totally open, probably to keep it even more lighter being this dino a pure racer.

Here my engine then..

Re: Dino 206 sp

Finally after some months I had my engines casted. I made copies of them, and I am really satisfied with fine quality of the cast.

price is 30 euros.
Finally I can complete my little ones as I want, soon in progress again

Re: Dino 206 sp

ok, finally time to use my engine unit and finish my little Dino. So much time since i started this little car, and still at today no MFH super kit around here. Maybe someday...but for now the only model kit around, with engine is mine.

now she looks this way:

for some months i couldnt work on her, but as soon as I retouch it, the feeling is always the same. I sill love this little p4 looking car.
Engine bay, as provided in my kit, comes with different parts as shown in the pictures we all can find online. some of the most interstings for me are those:

despite here the presence of an engine fire extinguer probably means the car is used today in historical racings..

and mostly this picture:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Fr...W=w736-h552-no

I create the inner crane and mountings for engine using evergreen rods (size o.35" code 220). Note the schema of the tubolar frame. In those light racers they were really as a bird bones cage. very thin tubes..

I hope those pictures can be used for all the guys with my model and the engine.

note in this step it is still missing the longitudinal lines of tube frames. This because the engone is just temporary fixed to the frame to take the exact measures with the holes in the resin body

Re: Dino 206 sp

more pics. Note I decided to place the battery in such position after i checked some pictures. this is an option u can choose by your own. several pictures show the battery mouted completely on the last part of the frames, other pics on the left..so you must check the best. I liked this one, and the metal base for the battery is a leftover pe part

the suspension bar was also made in evergreen, it is ok also use a metal rod for this part. Shock absorbers and springs not in position until the final positioning in the engine bay. engine still temporary fixed

engine painted. Cool you still can read DINO over the headers

The bellhousing and gearbox are magnesium.

also the dynamo position should be checked after pictures. In some ones it ends up to the main headers, in others between them.

then time to disassembly again the body and properly clearcote the mainshell

Re: Dino 206 sp

final details on my dino. Looking back when I start all this I seen we spent 8 yrs together guys. Thats a LOT of time for a model, and if I am not wrong, this is still a very rare subject not produced my mfh or jewelers like theme.

Happy really with y little own production. Sometimes I am a little jealous to see theme fly abroad and not so keen to sell those....lol. what kinda producer am i??? wonder...

here the dino in her final stages. Last pictures in the completed section. 8 yrs and I still love you little beast.

and as my p4 had the helmet from Chris amon in the cockpit, I would like to add the little simple helmet of an Italian champion of the 60s. Lorenzo Bandini, that drove this little in 1966 and in 1967

Thanks for watching and for all buying my kit and engine !

another racer is soon leaving the pits here
