Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

I'm not saying you should'nt go for it.
I'm saying that you'll be 'future proofing' at best, if you decide to go for the bigger alt..

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

I know your thinking if your amp is rated to put out 1500 watts constantly, then your alt needs 100 amps dedicated just for your music..
even though it won't hurt, that's not necessarily a necessity unless you want to play a test tone all the time at full rms power...
yes your system can pump out 1500 watts constantly, but no your music doesn't ask for it constantly...
music is so dynamic that even if you have (3) five hundred watt rms subs and a 1500 watt rms amp, your not going to ever use that much power for more than a few split seconds at a time.
Basically, your power levels are going to spike with the beats your subs are playing. The only thing you might have to worry about is supplying the power fast enough.
I know what your thinking, so before you ask, I'll just go ahead and answer...
FOR YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, I'LL RECOMMEND A DEEP CYCLE BATTERY AND A CAPACITOR, (1.5 farads min). What the cap is going to do for you is rapidly store voltage in between bass beats so that when your music ask for it, it won't have to compete with your trucks electrical system too much, (depending on the current draw at the time). If there was a way to get that capability internally, (like the inductors), you would'nt have to get one externally. The deep cycle batteries are designed to be drained and recharged over and over again without compromising it's life cycle...during times of extremely high demand, your deep cycle can help your alternator by providing extra amps during short burst, (* voltage is common but current is additve in parallel)...

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

if you are not going to drive/ have your car on you will have to add a second battery because other wise with 1500rms you will drain your battery to the point where it won't be able to start your truck.

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

You Need About 10 Volts To Start Your Car
A Second Battery Won't Hurt

Re: Can someone that knows alot about bass help

depends if you buy them together and they both have the same readings then you can just wire them paralle but if you don't / they don't match match you will need a battery isolater ( about 100 bucks)
