Re: brands to buy or not to buy?

I just bought Alpine head unit + Type S front speakers, which hopefully are good as I've never heard bad things from Alpine. Anyways, they were running a deal and since I have a lack of time/sources I went with the Sony Xplod's, now from I've read here they aren't that good, so I'm thinking about exchanging them. Now choices around here at the store I bought them (Best Buy) - Yeah I know. Anyway they have Alpine Subs/Amps to complete my system if I exchange, their is also another store that is a bit of distance away, but not bad on a day off type thing that sells JL, other than that their is your standard brands for Rockford/Kicker/Infinity/JL/Alpine/Pioneer etc. For the set I paid about 350 for the Xplod set, now for around that or even up to about 500 or so, what's the best I could do for 2 12" subs and 2 channel amp?

Re: brands to buy or not to buy?

why did you post in this thread? its an old thread. You should of just started a new thread. Anyway if you want to stay with alpine get type Rs (they are good sq for the price i think you can get 2 of these for like 200-250) and yes sony car audio sucks, also buying online is usually cheaper.
