2000 Tranny Problems.
I have a 2000 1500 ram purchased new in may 2000, in march 02 tranny goes with 57000 miles, gets warranty rebuild. One year later in march 03 tranny goes again 87000 miles. Gets rebuilt by dealer under warranty. in April 04 tranny goes again needs rebuild, 120000 miles- now chrysler says its three weeks over warranty and won't rebuild. Whats up with this thing.

What does the tranny seem to be doing? What engine size do you have? You towing/hauling?

It has a 5.2 motor and it is used as a car for the most part, I tow 6 times a year but do load the back more often but lets get real here it is a truck isn't it, I think I pulled twice as hard with my 93 honda civic.

Re: 2000 Tranny Problems.
Take the truck to a different dealer. Call Chrysler Corp. Start the arbitration process. You can get results. Keep yelling. It may take some time, but they will listen if forced to. They will do something about it. Sadly, they will only fix it again. They won't redesign the trans to suit everybody and last forever.
Consider this: if it didn't ever break, they'd never sell any new trucks, and make money. This game is repeated throughout the automotive industry until the vehicle is obsolete, then magically the upgraded and better components start showing up in aftermarket parts. Just look what happened to the 225 slant six, the most bomb-proof motor in history. Killed because it'll go 500K (when taken care of)without an overhaul. The A904/A727 transmissions will go 200-300K with proper maintenence. All scrapped from Chryslers line-up, stating that they were obsolete and not what customers wanted anymore. They wanted fuel injection, "magnum" engines (is that the Tom Selleck magnum, or what? it just uses more gas...) and V6's; overdrive automatics and bells and whistles... Curiously, the first V6's were based on the 5.2/5.9 LA engines, and the new RWD overdrive automatics are based on the A904 (which is the WEAKER of the two old versions). If you do pay for it yourself, consider AAMCO and their "Lifetime" warranty. It'll cost you a fortune, and it won't make it last forever, but you won't have to pay for it again! Ok, I'm off the soapbox, Slantsixness

That's a 2500 diesel truck on your site. Is that another one of your trucks or what?
