My car has the hks 2.8 kit and the t-51 spl bb. That run was at 1.8 boost. It is set to run at 2.4 boost. The dyno couldn't handle anything more than that. Unfortunatly my car has been stuck in an importing struggle for the past nine months. It is hard to say if I will ever get the car. (BTW I am trying to do it the legal way.)

386 AWHP at 1.02 Bar.....
est 420 AWHP at 1.2 Bar..... as you can see, I was heading for an easy 420 on the second run at 1.2 bar, when one of the straps broke....whoops! I had to settle for a third run of 386. Hell! |

Re: How much power do you have?
Question?
because most of get our cars tested on rolling roads which will give power at the wheels. Everyone likes to talk about power att eh crank. Does anyone know what the powertrain losses are for a GTR? ie anyone had an engine on a dyno then rolling road too? |

It has to vary depending on the torque split going to the front.
I have heard its normally around 25%, but that should be with the fronts engaged. 25% for a manual and RWD would be insane.

Re: How much power do you have?
The average on RWD with the skylines vintage car is about 20%, and AWD car from the same era is bout 30%, so if running on only a RWD dyno, (i.e. fround drive disconected) then 20% would be a nice conservative power loss figure to go with, but you probobly want to allow maybe 2-3% each way as margin for error.

tazdev,
Do you know the conversion from KW to HP. For some reason, I always forget that one. I am thinking its like 1.2:1, but I could be way off. I have a lot of numbers running around in my head

Re: How much power do you have?
kw - hp x 1.34 hp - kw x 0.746
ps - hp x 0.986 hp - ps x 1.01 ps - kw x 0.735 kw - ps x 1.36 any other numbers you require so my T has 225hp |

Ferrari specs aren't that good either, but poeple buy them.
And your father drives a? Its not a cars ability to go from 0-60, or 0-100, or run the 1/4, or top speed, or brake 60-0, or get so many g's on the skid pad, or attain so many mph in the slalom, or the way the seats feel, or the way the car looks, etc. Its combination of all of these that make a great car? Your father has never even seen one, let alone driven one. So, whats your point? with 3 mods, boost controller, exhaust, and intake the GTR will produce about 380hp, but its not really the total power we are looking at that makes the GTR one of the best cars in the world. Of course the are a lot of cars that can beat it in the 1/4, there are a lot of cars that can beat it a road race, but you would be hard pressed that could beat the GTR in every thing, but even if you could, that car is still no GTR

How does the car idle compared to the stock cams?

Re: How much power do you have?
Nice lumpy idle. Mine is lumpier due to the cam timing. I have gone for more power in the mid range by having 2degrees retard on the intake and 8 degrees on the exhaust. There is about 15-20hp to be gained by advancing both cams at the same boost but, it moves the power up the rev range. I wanted to keep the revs around 6500rpm for peak power. The turbo's make fullboost by 2800rpm. If I fit aftermarket split dump pipes and muck around with the timing map I can probably drop that another 300-500 rpm.
I also have lightweight pulleys fitted and have removed the factory belt driven fan in favour of an electric 16inch thermo fan and I also have a lightweight flywheel. This all adds to the response of the engine and gets you great exit speed out of corners. |
