BMW 740i Auto 1997 starting problems
Hi every one, I am new on here and am from Suffolk, England.
On my BMW 740i Auto 1997 i am having a problem getting it started, this has happend once in the past and it occurs if you start the engine and dont run it long enougth to get warm then stop the engine. It then floods and will not start. I had to call the AA who removed one or two fuses then when the engine fired replaced the fuses and all was fine. Do any of you know what fuses as I have this problem at present. Many thanks.... |

Re: BMW 740i Auto 1997 starting problems
Alan, I have a '95 740i and had similar issues. I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator (purcased from the dealer at about 70$) and it fixed the issue. I think the FPR is a part that tends to go bad on these vehicles and when this occurs the car floods itself. Hope this helps.
