Thumbs down Vinyl dash trim kit from Rvinyl...terrible

I recently tried to install this kit from Rvinyl. [link removed by moderator] All the die-cuts were in the wrong place. I contacted the company on it and they said they would give me store credit for the returned product. I asked them, "Why would I want more poorly die-cut decals? I want a refund." They replied, we retract our previous offer and advise me to stop harrassing them. Very poor customer service and I don't recommend this product to anyone.

Extremely poorly designed. The inner die-cuts were off by as much as an 1/8 of an inch. I installed 3 pieces and they were all off measure.

I would send them a nice letter explaining the situation. That might be your best chance of getting your money back. Don't forget, even if their product was perfect, they would get 3 complaints from people who can't install it correctly for every one that does a good job. They probably assume you don't know what you are doing. Maybe you just got a bad batch.

I've talked to others on forums about this same product and they had the same issues. I wish I would have seen their posts before I purchased this dash kit. I definitely sent them a professional email to resolve the problem and they didn't want to issue a refund, just store credit for more of their sub-standard products. Bottom line, terrible customer-service.

Too bad. They won't stay in business long with that product and attitude.

you should write them a letter again, in fact, fax them, tell them that this is not the way to do business. and if they continue doing business with this buy it or buy something else attitue, you're gonna take it to the consumer's affairs department. they'll sort it out for you.

I've tried a few more times to contact Rvinyl and no reply. Right now, I'm just trying to get the word out before others receive poor products and service. I'm probably going to go the custom paint route now, since this idea went horribly wrong.

Talking Perfect for the Price....

Hello,

Actually, Rvinyl has great customer service! Shipping turn around is 2-3 days to your door for U.S. Residents. The quality to price ratio is unsurpassed. [link removed by moderator] has over 100 designs with customer installation photos unlike most dash kit companies! Many of the kits even come with duplicate pieces to install the kits. If you have questions please feel free and contact us: [link removed by moderator]

Thanks,

Hard to believe from the above poster's experience. Maybe you should make him a satisfied customer and someone would believe you.

Re: Vinyl dash trim kit from Rvinyl...terrible

I would add to this thread that the yellow tinted Rvinyl product I installed on my foglamps in 2008 has slowly charred in the middle. Of course they don't list "charring" as a warrantable item, not to mention they don't care once you hit 3 years of product life. That's apparently what they think the life of a "semi-permanent upgrade" is. I look forward to finding a competitor's product for my next vehicle!
