If your are mounting these do to need of a racing body then their rules will specifically spell out how they wanted it mounted to pass tech.

Re: 4point harness ?

no, I just wanted to install them properly. So that they are safe and will hold up in the event of a wreck.

Re: 4point harness ?

I am also using a 4 point harness in my stang. The style i am using Y's together behind the seat (Corbeu forzas) then is anchored into the floorpan with a nut and bolt. Under the floorpan is a 2" wide 1/4" thick piece of steel that is welded to the rocker and also to the inside framing. The nut and bolt are then attached to this metal. For the front two attaching points i am using the stock locations, with new hardware. Hopes this helps.

Re: 4point harness ?

I have not heard that, and the guy that helped me install them has worked for the ACS mustang race team as the crewchief for several seasons, i value his suggestions and ideas. I don't want to sound like i am coming down on you man, but you see what i am saying. Just be carefull what you "hear", ya know?

Re: 4point harness ?

i gotcha. One other thing i did "hear" and this is my main area of concern, is that if your shoulders are above the eyeholes on your seat (where the seat belt comes through) then with the belts directly behind you, it can cause spinal compression, thats was only reason i was checking before i did it. thx for your help though, keep it comin'!

Re: 4point harness ?

i had not heard that point, and it does make sense. We just finished an old alfa that had the 5 point harness anchored to the role cage farther up than the floor, because the fella was kinda big. Although it seems like no matter where they are mouinted (to a certain extent) they should hold you in the same place during any act (cornering, braking, crashing....). I want an answear to this as well, so if anyone knows chime in.
