In A 1/4 Mile Race Which Car Would Win?

These cars are all now on sale, meaning you can buy them new for 2003, I picked the best V8, V6, and 4 cylinder I could think of for less then $30,000. So who would win> Ford Mustang Mach 1, Nissan 350Z, or Subaru WRX, or if you have a car (now for sale, meaning no EVO or STI) for under $30,000 and stock add it to the mix.

I think this comparison has been done already...to some extent...the Mach 1 beats out the 350Z in the straight line but if the twisties show up...it shows the Mach 1 it's tail...not to mention the superior build and reliability of the Nissan

no competition Mach 1, its just pure power unlike the other 2. but Im sure the other 2 will last a lot longer and out handle it any day

its been tested already. the mach1 had a better 0-60 time, but the 350Z was sooo much faster from 60-80 and 80-100. the highend on the Z smokes the Mach1 in some occasions as bad as by more then 1 second from each rolling sprint. so like what many said. 1/4 does not tell the entire story of the car's straight line speed.

tat II is right the mach 1 is faster in the 1/4. That what is was designed for. Big V8 will win against V6 or turbo 4.

And i totally agree with you but he did ask which is faster in the 1/4. It was painful but i had to agree that the mach 1 was faster in that respect cuz of the V8

I threw that last one in (different car) hoping someone would think of a car that would beat the mach 1, since they now cut the production numbers and it probly will be impossibe to find one if you actually want one.

i think the dodge neon srt-4 turbo should be on that list. well under $30,000. 1/4 in 14.2, 0-60 in 5.6 seconds (according to car and driver). it should fare pretty well against those. but i'm not sure if it can take the mach 1 in the 1/4 mile. it should be about even with, if not better than the 350z in the 1/4 mile.

but to answer the question, i'll have to go with the mach 1

well you could find a slighty used z28 or a trans am faster than the mach 1 unde 30K. Or does it have to be absolutelly brand new?
