99 Yukon wierd problem

A couple weeks back my 99 yukon died after hitting a large bump, found that the IGN A fuse was blown and kept blowing new fuses so I started digging and I found a slightly bare wire from an old remote start install that was touching the steel dash, problem solved I think. A few days go by and the ABS starts cycling about every 10 or so brakes, which is wierd, then ABS light comes on speedo goes to zero and trans wont shift, stays in 1st gear but every now and then speedo starts working trans shifts and you can drive but then speedo drops and wham feels like nuetral but really its back to first gear only if you rev it high enough, then the speedo starts on off on off on off gears work then dont then do and so on. What the heck is going on ? Anyone hear of anything strange like this?

Start by checking the large plug on the trans, make sure it is not corroded inside or loose. If ok suspect ign switch, not the key cyl. but the ign switch. Jiiggle the switch a little see if anything happens when driving, do this safely of course.

Re: 99 Yukon wierd problem

Its funny you say that maxwedge, After I figured out the fuse problem a new problem arose with the ignition, when yoou turned the key off and pulled out the key the dash lights and buzzer stayed on and the key could be removed, but of you jiggled the cylinder it would quit, but it would also come back on if jiggled more, with no key inserted, so I did go ahead and change the ignition switch, what a pain being that the remote start is wired to that section. Once I had the switch in but not the remote start wired I took it for a spin and it seemed fine, old switch was just hanging under the dash, so I came home spliced in all the remote start wires and then the next day took it for a drive and whalla, doing it all over again!! Cant imagine it being anything to do with the remote start tho. Maybe I need to look at the trans. connection for corrosion.
