Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

A smoking Metro.....wow that brings back memories... I reminds me of my former neighbors metro... the only difference was that it wasn't smoking tires.. it was smoking in general but that's cause it had "some" problems especially when the car couldn't even make it up his slight incline of a driveway.

Well i have some good news from my part, I applied to a job on monday and got a call back for an interview ON MONDAY! So my interview is tomorrow, it's another hotel just much better in every aspect! Further from home though so more of a commute for me , but hopefully the pay is better, i know the benefits are already! Traffic will be very bad for me if I get it, since i will have to contend with Rutgers University traffic since it's right in the middle between 3 Rutgers campuses! I let you guys know how it goes tomorrow.

Have a good day

I need to find out my mpg, i'd fill up full and drive it to the last drop if I could but Im lazy lol, normally when I get gas $10-$15 (6gal avrg)does me good for about 4-5 days...

I did this drive Here on only $15 there and back and basically had a little bit left before the light came on lol

I'm a bit lost with this mpg thing your talking about. Anyways. When I was doing my "commute" to my sisters house everyweek, I was getting from 27 mpg up to 33 mpg on the g/a I loved it. Now for my job I got 23 mpg avg on the g/a and only 20mpg on the g6 ( if i drive in auto only). You just have to calculate it out one time to see how the car is doing. Rest the trip meter to 0 at fill up and calculate at the next fill up.

XI: Thanks for the good luck wish. The interview went well today, but i won't know if I got the job until maybe the next week or so. So time will tell....

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

I found that by keeping the RPMs 2000 or lower,
you'll get the most mpg.
Which is damn near imposible.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

yea grfnkl, that was just kinda rambling lol pointing it out though

XI: yea lol, Ive noticed its possible with 75mph right at 2k rpms if you're on the highway.. for city though... so many stops and such .. going to 3k or 3500rpms and such.... or drivin for fun and getting up to 50 in first gear to redline lol

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Well If i run DS outta the SE, I still get 20-22mpg.
The GT seems to drop to 16-18mpg when I'm doggin it

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Yeah the lower the rpms the better the mileage. that's probably why i got good mileage on the g/a since that damn thing always idled down, to about 1200-1500 almost at any speed i was driving and stayed there. It wouldn't really pass 2200rpm while accelerating Unless i was WOT it, any higher then 3000 rpm the car sounds like a sick vacuum cleaner. RRrrrRRRRrrrrRRRRrrrr..

On the G6, it goes up to 2500 just to shift alone, and if i push it i can red line it through each shift but by 2nd gear you are already doing close to 70 before i even get into 3rd or 4th.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Wow, the regal shifts at 5500 at about 40-45MPH. redline begins at 6000, so it will never get it...which makes me kind of unhappy.
