Re: Mirror fluid
How many accidents and other hits on the mirrors have you seen and heard of and how many times have you seen the mirror bleed? "1 in 250,000" if you are lucky????? The mirros are in cars and trucks and the Feds know what it is..... I'll take my chances. Wait, I already did when I broke mine!!! No problems yet, maybe my third generation unborn will be defective......

Re: Mirror fluid
I read somewhere just now to try acetone or lac thinner. Just be careful not to get either of them on any molding or plastic parts. Same thing happened to me....brown streak down my drivers side door (silver Tundra). Hell I'm an autoworker at a Toyota Plant here in KY and I had no idea auto-dimming mirrors had a corrosive fluid inside them! Honestly I didnt know my truck even HAD auto-dimming mirror until the damn thing broke. I've worked in the paint shop for Toyota for 24 years doing spot repair, bump and dents......and we used to be able to "bake" a stain like this out (usually some type of oil stain from equipment or robots) by spraying automotive paint thinner on the stain HEAVY and then heating it up with a heat lamp and baking the stain to the surface. Depending on the stain, sometimes had to repeat this several times. Then take a very fine (2500 or 3000 grit paper and sand the etching left behind out and buff back to a shine. I've not had time to try it yet on this mess. Hope it works. If so I'll post
