Need Help with Eclipse 5331 Security
We recently purchased a 1995 Ford Probe which has an Eclipse 5331 ESN Stereo receiver installed. We had to replace the car battery and now the receiver is inoperable. The display only reads "HELP". Is there an override?

no, you have to punch in a code, usually on the numbered keys for the radio stations. Ask the previous owner if he still has the code

the drfualt is usually 1's or 0's so try that and if that doesnt work contact the prvious owner, if it does work, then go and change it.

Re: Need Help with Eclipse 5331 Security
Oh yeah, when I first read this post I didn't know the solution, Paul's right, you need to input a security code by using the present channel buttons on the head unit (1,2, etc).
Either ask the owner or look around in the documentation for the car (where the manual, etc. is) if there is any and look for a card or sheet with some numbers on it. It'll probably say Audio security pin number or something to that effect.

The number that you have to input. That's what it's called on the card that has that number on it for my car so I just called it that....

Smartass. You know what I mean. By the way, if you're going to correct me on my mistake, what about your posts as whole?
WTF is drfualt? I know what default is .... but wtf is drfault? WTF is doesnt? I know what doesn't is .... but wtf is doesnt? WTF is prvious? I know what previous is .... but wtf is prvious? And in grade 1 were all taught that I is always capitalized. And almost none of the words in your posts are capitalized and if you typed it into microsoft Word the computer might explode.

Re: Need Help with Eclipse 5331 Security
This Deck Actually Has A Pretty Smart Theft Deturant System In It
When You Buy The Deck You Program It With A Cd As A Key, If The Deck Looses Power You Need That Specific Cd To Re-activate The Deck Again.not Sure If There Is Any Way To Erase It |

Re: Need Help with Eclipse 5331 Security
I have this stereo in my car and i don't enter a code to reset it. When I bought the stereo and installed it the instruction manual said that the security key is any CD so I took a CD out of of personal collection and loaded it into the stereo. The stereo reads the CD and stores its written code as a security key. So whenever I lose power I just load in that CD and the stereo reads it and resets it.
