69 Chevy K10

I recently bought a 69 Chevy K10 with a 3 speed manual transmission (on the column.) I got the truck home and could not get the shift handle to go into position to put the transmission into reverse or 1st gear. I removed the gear shift handle and applied some PB Blasted into the internal areas to no avail. Can anyone help?

Question Re: 69 Chevy K10

Have you looked under the hood at the linkage rods for binding?

Re: 69 Chevy K10

Thanks for responding. The lithium grease in the column seemed to work.
