Car jumps a bit while Driving
Hi
I own a 2001 altima. The car was running smoothly but on an unfortunate day on a freeway I was on 70+ mph speed (IN has 70 limit ) and the car in front of me lost the control somehow. Because of that I lost a lil control and had to apply immediate brakes. After that incident it seems that right side of my car jumps a bit and you can feel that on the wheel too. Initially I thought that the front right tire would have got some problem and so did tire rotation but no use. I showed to couple of mechanics. They mentioned that there is some problem but could not say firmly what's wrong. They did vehicle inspection and came up with a list of other problems though. They - Right in tire rod needs replacement (but the problem seems to come from right side) - Need alignment. (I knew it before this incident) - front brakes are only 80% If anyone knows what could have gone wrong or what else should I check. |

From that description it sounds like your brake pad is rubbing up on the braking surface on your tire. To check though it would likely be easier to go back to the garage and tell them to check and see if that's the issue. Checking if the brake pad is stubbing on the tire other than feel is a multiple person job in my experience.
