Gee... lets see...cram 33 psi in a 7+ liter engine and see what happens. And I don't know that many people with stock lower ends doing 10s in a ricer. I knew a guy in a '98 Eclipse that tried and shattered a piston (cast pistons tend to do that). I don't car if it's import or domestic, if you do the same amount to both cars, cubic inches makes ALL the difference.

Boost is the only substitute for cubic inches.
Hence why you will NEVER see a NA 4 banger whoop on a NA V8. Unless it is some seriously mismatched race or the driver blows it.

boost is no substitute for cubic inches, get a 2 liter, crank some major boost into it and it can put out as much as a 350 small block but do the same to the small block and it'll have so much more power.

As for the claim about Eclipses and Talons, please. I know several Eclipse owners and the things have a hard enough time taking the stock power from the engine as it is. Quote:
Yeah you're faster...after you twin-turbo, convert to AWD, lose the extra weight, forge the entire engine so it doesn't blow up from all the boost and compression A 1967 427 Corvette would smoke an EVO today and it's N/A, non-fuel injected, RWD, and doesn't have even half the technology put into it as that EVO does. Do us all a favor and think a little before you go making stupid ass stereotype claims.

Lets not forget the Shelby GT-500s with 427s. 13 second monsters too. The 427 Yenko Camaro, 11 seconds of American Muscle baby!!! Quote:
Dad said his brother just walked into it in 3rd and it threw him in the back where he couldn't get up. When his brother let off dad got up and saw the speedo drop past 120. He said he probably hit anywhere from 130-140 in 3rd gear.

Re: 600+awhp EVO vs 667rwhp Cobra vs 300 shot Camaro
i wonder why imports dont use v8s? they could just as easily put them in japaneese cars. they use them in trucks and suvs but never anything bigger than a v6 in a car.

I agree, build that camaro's motor to run 30 psi , then build the evo motor NA and able to handle a 300 shot. The camaro would trounce the Evo all day long. A 2.4L motor on 30+PSI of boost + able to handle a 300 shot is NOT going to be a 'daily driver' . Both of these cars just represent different ways at getting HP and that I respect. |
