Exclamation So what headunit does yours truely use and why ?

So when designing my perfect audio system, everything boils down to one thing... What if you want to add amps? Like in my case I will be, does it have enough RCA outputs? What about future expandability, what kind of features does it offer? Am I going to have to buy another one 2 months down the road or can I buy exactly what I want now?

The headunit I choose is the Jensen IC8010, why Jensen you ask? Simple... VERY VERY simple! The headunit puts out 240 watts, yes thats a full 60 watts per channel. Why is this important? Well as of right now I do not have any amplifiers so having a high output head unit untill I got amps was important. So what about when I get amplifiers? How about 2 pair of kick ass, 6 volt preamp outputs ~ more then most any other headunits on the market without spending $500+! Additional features? How about being able to control upto 4 other inputs from the headunit, AND having an RCA input for adding the 45gb MP3 player that I will be installing next weekend? Yup it has it all...

Plus, the fact that everyone will state that Jensen sucks ~ if it sucks I will challenge anyone who wishes. I am simply amazed by the depth, clarity and tonal correctness with the Jensen and after installing it, it was easy to see I made the correct choice. I have stock speakers up front and they simply screamed! Ive never heard stock speakers sound so good... and what else? I cranked the volume upto 50 and get this, there was not a grain, not a note, and not any kind of sign of distortion! I am very happy with my choice and it just goes to show that if you keep an open mind, you can get very nice stuff.

Here is a picture of the incredible wiring harness, im sure you wont be able to see it but unlike most other headunits the RCA outputs do not come out of the headunit but plug into the back of the unit along with the power wire and other speaker wires! Massive and very sturdy harness...

Here is a picture with the power off...

And here is a picture with the power on, playing a cd...

Overall? I give it 5 out of 5 stars! Definately earns my "best buy" award and my personal approval. Anyone who disbelieves me is welcomed to stick their head in my car and give the head unit a listen!

Model & Price...
Jensen IC8010
List Price: $279.95

That's impressive for Jensen!
That 60W of power would be max power, right?

We all know of Jensen's past reputation/history. Unfortunately, that is what people base their decisions on.

And yes, 60x4 is its peak power ~ but do not confuse that with other headunits that get their ratings at max distortion. Like I said I can crank this fucker upto 50 and not get so much as a drop of any distortion! I will do more testing tomorrow when I have a good CD to try it out on ~ but so far everything from vocal to instrumentals such as strings and "wood winds" and trumpets all sound beautifull ~ I will see how it stands upto say Ohhh NaS ~ STILLmatic

And also, like I said you cant underestimate companies... places like Jensen and other companies out there have points to prove and scores to settle. These are the companies that the better products will be coming out of ~ not places that are already known for quality... because hey, they are the "top dog" why should they change anything. See my point?
