Used Hybrid - Things to watch for?

My brother just purchased a used 2009 Highlander Hybrid. He's already purchased it, but I'm wondering if there are things I should check out for him to possibly remedy before it is too late? I haven't connected my professional scan tool to it yet, do you know if the battery condition (charge capacity, etc.) is an available parameter with a professional scan tool?

Any other comments or thoughts are welcome.

-Rod
