gs400 continuous clicking when stopped braking

My daughter just bought a 1998 gs400 was sitting for 3 years undriven(the previous owner passed away and his wife had it sitting in the garage).

The car runs great after replacing the dry rotted tires. But, when stopped there is a continuous clicking sound coming from the engine compartment. When I tried to track down the location I was surprised that it wasn't coming from the master cylinder area. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the engine near the intake manifold. I plan on getting a stethoscope to try to narrow down the location.

The clicking stops when you let off the brake, but starts as soon as you press the brakes again. It doesn't matter if it is in gear or not. It is not the pads or calipers because the noise comes from the engine and keeps clicking a couple of times a second. Ideas?
